It's Friday...but Sunday's Coming!

How many times do we come to the Word of God and it seems like it goes in one ear and out the other. Without the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit, preaching can become just a transfer of information. This week, let us together plead with God to plant his word deep into our hearts and minds, into our very soul, so that we may bear the fruit of faithful, obedient lives.

A PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION
Living God,
help us to hear your Holy Word with open hearts
so that we may truly understand;
and, understanding,
that we may believe;
and, believing,
that we may follow in all faithfulness and obedience,
seeking your honor and glory in all that we do.
Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

I had to post at all the bloggers who listed MDK as a favorite author. There were a grand total of three of us. After examining your blog and the other lone Klinian, there are at least 2 of us that are Baptist. Another amazing tid-bit of unlikely information! Nice post, and very true my brother! How often is the Word brought out alive in a passage that my have been other wise passed over without much impact. May the Lord bless you and your family.

Thanks for dropping by, Hank. Yeah probably not too many Baptist fans of Kline out there. Praise God for his effectual grace! I got to learn under his protege, Gordon Hugenberger while at Gordon-Conwell. It was a blast. Really opened my eyes to Biblical Theology and even more importantly the glory of the Great King and the joy of His lavish love
